We are writing to provide an update on the Anthem data breach. As you know, the NECA/IBEW Family Medical Care Plan (FMCP) Trustees decided to provide immediate protection to our covered members with identity protection provided by LifeLock® for one-year free of charge. Notices have already been sent to the members with instructions.
Late yesterday, Anthem advised us that beginning at 2:00 pm (EST) today (Friday, February 13, 2015) on their website, www.anthemfacts.com, members will be able to sign up for Identity Theft Repair and Credit Monitoring Services. These are being offered for two years free of charge. Anthem is continuing to work to determine who was affected, and again, will advise them by US mail in the coming weeks.
It is our believe that with the LifeLock® preventative services that we have offered, along with the Identity Theft Repair and Credit Monitoring Services offered by Anthem, our members are being afford maximum protection in the wake of this breach.
We would like to suggest that you notify your members/employees as soon as possible about the Anthem services available at www.anthemfacts.com and urge them to sign up for added protection. Again, the FMCP offering for LifeLock identity protection has already been sent to all members.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the FMCP at 301-556-4303.
